NWZAA

The Northwest Zoo & Aquarium Alliance (NWZAA) is a consortium of 10 Pacific Northwest zoos and aquariums working together to preserve and protect Northwest wildlife and critical habitat through education, research and advocacy.

Members include the Oregon Zoo, Boise Zoo, High Desert Museum, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium, Vancouver (BC) Aquariu, Woodland Park Zoo and Wildlife Safari.

NWZAA also collaborates with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Pacific Northwest is home to an amazing diversity of animals and plants due to unique habitats created by the interface of land, water and weather found only in this region. Zoos and aquariums of the Pacific Northwest are working to protect and restore habitats and species in trouble in this special eco-region system, which we share and impact in many ways.

Our goal is to foster pride and stewardship in our visitors, volunteers and staff toward the Pacific Northwest.

NWZAA asks for your help. Many unwanted exotic pets released into the wild over a period of time have negatively impacted the native wildlife of the Pacific Northwest region. Please select your pets responsibly-choosing a pet involves a commitment for the duration of the animal's life. Do your research and plan ahead. Pets can be amazing companions, but make sure you select a pet compatible with your lifestyle and income. If you want to see rare and exotic animals, visit one of the fantastic zoos or aquariums in your area.
